Do I need any previous experience to start?
No. Most students start with no flying experience at all. Your first lesson is a $149 Discovery Flight, and your instructor walks you through everything from the preflight on.
What is a Discovery Flight?
A Discovery Flight is your first real flight lesson. You take the controls with a Certified Flight Instructor beside you the whole time, it costs $149, and there is nothing to commit to afterwards.
Is it safe?
Yes — safe flying is the first thing Ozark Aero teaches. You fly classic, well-maintained training aircraft with dual controls, and your instructor can take over at any moment.
How much does it cost to earn a Private Pilot License?
Ozark Aero quotes it for your goals rather than printing one number, because how often you fly is the biggest cost factor. Start with a $149 Discovery Flight, or call 254-316-0950 for current rates and an estimate.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Yes, before you fly solo. A third-class FAA medical certificate is enough for a Private Pilot, and you can take lessons before you have it — including your Discovery Flight.
What aircraft will I train in?
You train in Ozark Aero’s classic, well-maintained training aircraft — the same airplanes available for rental once you’re rated. Call 254-316-0950 for the current lineup.
Are you a Part 61 or Part 141 school?
Ozark Aero is a Part 61 school. Training is one-on-one and built around your goals and schedule rather than a fixed academy syllabus.
Can I finance my flight training?
Not through the school — Ozark Aero does not offer in-house financing. Part 61 training lets you fly at a pace that fits your budget, and organizations like AOPA and EAA offer scholarships worth checking.

Can flight training be a career?
Yes. Ozark Aero trains from Private Pilot through Instrument, Commercial, CFI and CFII — the certificates and ratings that lead to flying professionally.

What does financing actually cover?
Ozark Aero does not offer financing, so there is no school loan to cover anything. What an outside loan or scholarship covers is set by that lender or organization.
